Lift Up Contra Costa Action is a coalition of seven partner organizations: ACCE Action (Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment), East Bay Action, The Safe Return Project, CBE Action, The Contra Costa Labor Council, SEIU 1021, and SEIU 2015.

Lift Up Contra Costa Action is rooted in the belief that our communities deserve dignity, safety, and a meaningful voice in the decisions that shape our daily lives. We are committed to challenging and dismantling all forms of oppression, including anti-Black racism, racism, anti-immigrant and anti-LGBTQ discrimination, as well as systems that exploit workers and exclude working-class families from power.

We envision a Contra Costa County where shared resources are invested equitably and where the people most impacted by rising costs, displacement, and instability are no longer shut out of decision-making. Our work centers the leadership and lived experiences of BIPOC communities, immigrants, youth, and working-class residents, recognizing that lasting change comes from building collective power rooted in community.

Our vision is one in which workers have the right to economic dignity, families have the stability to remain in their homes and thrive in their health, communities are safe and well-resourced, and democracy is accessible, participatory, and accountable.

We believe real change happens when community-rooted, values- aligned people are empowered to take action as volunteers and advocates—and are supported to step into leadership and elected office. Through organizing, training, and civic engagement, we are building a strong base of volunteers and advocates who reflect our communities and are prepared to shape policy, influence elections, and create a Contra Costa County where everyone has the power to flourish.
